I go into the 2d editor and set everything up from an psd. After I hit bake I recieve an Gameobject named after the character I typed in with the script Ap Portrait, but I am not seeing anything. Nothing is being rendered.

When you create a character from a PSD file, most of the elements are basically done.
However, if you execute Bake in that state, nothing is rendered in the Unity Scene.
This is because the created Mesh Group is not registered as a Root Unit.
Select a Mesh Group, as described below, and click the "Set Root Unit" button in the Setting tab.
Of course, there are many other causes that may not render in a Unity Scene.
